Fergalicious.

Well, fuck. I’m 33 now. It’s weird, because when I was younger, I never imagined my life further than, like, 23 or 24, so every year it feels odd to get older.

Thanks to all my myspace peeps for the birthday wishes!!

My birthday was technically yesterday, but we’ve been recognizing it for what seems like forever now. My friends, parents and I went out to dinner last Saturday to celebrate my birthday, along with The Good Girl’s birthday, since hers is at the beginning of October (and frankly, I don’t understand why she wanted to combine the two, but I’m not one of those birthday princesses who insists that it has to be MY day, so it was no big deal). Then, last night, Angela and The Good Girl took me out to dinner for my birthday, and Saturday I’m going out with my parents and my sister for my birthday, since my Mother thought that the YMCA campaign meeting was more important than celebrating the birth of her first-born (no, I’m not a bit bitter) on the actual day. Oh, and next week, we’re celebrating my birthday at work. So, yeah. It’s been on-going.

My super-dreamy boyfriend sent me a beautiful bouquet of orchids and lilies, and my co-worker, Old Andria, came out and said, “Jesus, are we still celebrating your birthday? It feels like it’s been your birthday for three weeks!”

Even the Scientologists knew it was my birthday, because they came to my office and dropped off a DVD for me to watch called “Youth For Human Rights - 30 Rights. 30 Ads.” Apparently, it’s a DVD of PSAs that are going to lure you into the wacko Scientological (did I just make up a word?) way of life. I’m not watching it, because I’m convinced it’s laced with subliminal messages to make me think that Tom Cruise really did penetrate Katie’s lady business to impregnate her, and that John Travolta’s really straight. I am more than a little concerned that there’s a Scientology office just a few feet from my office. It’s called The Life Improvement Center Hubbard Dianetics Foundation. Ick. I feel the cult-y-ness in the air.

Now, in other news, I have a confession to make to all of you lovely people. I have done something I thought I would never do, for which I am not proud.

Please don’t judge me.

I’m not responsible for my actions.

It’s not my fault.

I… I… Oh, fuck it.

I got the Fergie CD.

AND I LIKE IT.

A LOT.

I also got the new Justin Timberlake and Scissor Sisters, and they’re both great. Don’t hate on Justin Timberlake, people.

He’s bringing sexy back!

Yes, I feel great shame when I admit that I actually like that “London Bridge” song. Not so much shame with liking “Sexyback”….but a little.

Happy birthday! I am sorry I was a tool and did not extend greetings on the actual day.

And I am so buying the Scissor Sisters this weekend. And the Killers, too, if it’s out yet.

Warcry, no… the only thing that came with the Fergie record was crack, because I haven’t been able to stop listening to it. God, it’s disgusting how much I love the songs.

Loopy, I LOVE the Scissor Sisters CD. It’s not quite as fun as the first one, but it’s still really good.

DK, do you listen to the radio? The new Killers song is all over the place!! I don’t know if I’ll buy it, though. I have to hear another song before I decide. And honestly, I don’t know why I didn’t advertise my birthday, because I usually do. Oh yeah, it’s because I’m losing my mind. That’s it.

Happy birthday dollie! Sorry to hear about the Fergie thing, but at least you’re not buying Scissor Sisters like Loopy. (Love ya, Loopy. But hate the Scissor Sisters.)

OK so here’s the deal with JT. Even if you HATE his music, you can’t say the boy isn’t inspired. Even though I don’t particularly love the kid, I don’t mind when my little teeny bopper cousins listen to him, because I believe that good can come of any situation, and the good that comes from my little teeny bopper cousins listening to JT is that they might then be turned on to other, more significant artists like Otis Redding or Al Green. (okay fine so I KINDA like JT).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I think your birthday should extend one day for every year you’ve been alive. This is a new rule I just made up right now, but I believe in it. I think for every further year of Life we’ve had to endure, we deserve a full day of birthday celebration for the year. It’s like accrued vacation days at a company whose benefits don’t completely SUCK. Wait a minute… this is your blog, not mine… My apologies. I’ll stop now. :)

You know why I’m not ashamed of you, and not judging you, and TOTALLY not hating?

Maybe I should sing the reason …

“Even though the goooods are crazy … even though the staaars are blind …”

Love it. Can’t help it. Shoot me now.

I could handle the Justin Timberlake love because he has an ounce of talent. I could even handle it if you watched the Scientology thing and you started to buy into the cult. I could even handle it if you actually became a Scientologist. But buying Fergie AND liking her? My God Andria, I’m just so disappointed and saddened. I can’t believe you would sink to such a low! I just don’t know what to think anymore. Tom impregnating a female… Andria liking Fergie… Dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria!

I think Tom penetrated John Travolta in some hot man-on-man action.

Oh my God, Andria said “Katie’s lady business”. I feel so dirty….yet strangely aroused. Maybe Scientology is really a secret gay cult.

I’m easing my way into the Fergie CD, don’t know if I’ll get it or not. But I DO have the new Justin Timberlake CD and I love it love it love it! It’s one of those where every song is good. Not just a few good songs and the rest filler. So I’m with ya on that one. Haven’t gotten the new Scissor Sisters. I liked a few on their last one. I guess I just need to hear more of their music to truly appreciate it.

And belated Happy Birthday! I hope you had a great time and acted like the hoar that you are.

Okay, happy fucking birthday. I’m an asshole. Let’s recover. (Did I, or did I not, send some kind of email telling folks to let me know when their birthdays were so I could put it on my “hey, asshole, here’s an email so you remember shit” list? I blame you.) This music you’re talking about? Oy. Then again, you’ve always had some really pitiful taste, so I guess I’ll forgive you. Plus, today’s music really isn’t my bag. I’m sorry to inform you that you did not make up a word. Most Scientology crap has been unfortunately co-oped my myself, even though I haven’t had a journal in about 9 months. Sort of. Sigh. I do plan to respond to your emails. Some time. Some way.

Happy belated birthday, HOAR. I should have sent you something, but I’m not convinced that I like you enough. I joke. What do you want from Disney? Knowing, of course, that they don’t make (or maybe they do, but they sure as shit don’t sell them on the grounds) Mouse-ear vibrators?

Funny, Travolta is supposed to play JR Hewwing in the bigscreen version of Dallas! I can’t imagine him playing that role, but I have a feeling he’ll pull it off. I wonder if it’s going to be a comedy, or a drama?
