Uh.

I sometimes marvel at how stupid people are, and how often I am the one who is lucky enough to encounter them so  often.

Last night, I went to Target to get cat food and some other crap. As I was perusing one of the aisles, I was elated to see that there were red re-usable Target bags for sale. I feel somewhat responsible, because I’ve only mentioned them every single time I’m in Target, as well as e-mailing them and telling them that they are irresponsible for not having them. (Yes, I alone am responsible for Target having these bags. You’re welcome.)

This relieves me because for whatever reason, Target loves to throw money away on plastic bags, since they train their cashiers to put two things in one (big) bag and then start a new one for the next two items, and so on, and so on. I can buy twenty items and come home with a dozen bags. It’s retarded. I have no more space in my apartment for all these bags (and I refuse to throw them away).

Anyway.

So I was paying for my stuff, along with three re-usable bags.

Now. Common sense should tell you that if someone’s buying these bags, they’re probably going to want to use them.

But no. For the second time in my life, I watched a cashier put the re-usable bags in a fucking plastic bag with the rest of the stuff I bought. (This also happened at the grocery store a few months ago.)

I stood. Watching. I sighed. Heavily.

“Uh, can you put the stuff in the red bags?”

“Huh?”

“The re-USABLE bags. I’d like it if you can put the stuff in them.”

“But I already put them away.”

“We’re fulfilling their destiny!!!!”

She looked at me funny, and then got really put out because she had to take them out and use them.

JESUS.
