I had this problem a while back I click on the tools icon and select "current" and it will load the page I've selected for the day as long as I don't shut my computer down. I am also having it.

It can't be disabled and the only way is to copy and paste the link directly into the URL of the browser for now

Running viral or spyware scans bring back nothing, and it's frustrating me.
