When I rebooted I got a blank desktop. To replace explorer.exe: Look in TM and if explorer.exe is running, terminate the process and your desktop will disappear (as expected). Restart the pc and hopefully you'll be back up and running.......it worked for me at least! At least for me, every single blank desktop that greeted me was because of it. It is hard to advise on such issues remotely, so I suggest you find some friendly computer techie offline to take a look at your computer. The only programs I can run are Word Processing programs.
